10 Months

Oh my big girl! Where has the time gone. I love this stage but I see how big you are growing and I simply cannot believe we are already at 10 months! You are the joy of our days little lady. Here are just some of your 10 month milestones:

-You are still our petite girl. When you went to the doctor last month you only weighed 14 lbs and 12 oz. (Yes, you are getting enough food!) Dr. Estes wasn't worried, she just said you might be petite. And, that is okay with us...especially Mommy's back!
-Still eating baby food but have started eating larger pieces of food. Your favorite lately seems to be cheese. You are finally getting the hang of the sippy cup, although you haven't quite mastered holding it and getting it to your mouth yet.
-You have started putting some food in your mouth. You don't do it all the time but when we tell you to you will try your best. Mommy isn't too worried about this because she knows it won't be long before EVERYTHING will go in your mouth.
-You are clapping all the time now. When I come to get you up from a nap you sit up on your knees and clap, clap, clap
-You have rhythm! As soon as you hear music you start moving, makes daddy proud
-You LOVE other children. As soon as you see another child you smile and laugh at them. You are glued to their every move.
-Still napping at least twice a day for an hour and sometimes get in a 3rd nap that might be 30mins-1hr
-Continuing to have your bedtime around 7ish at night. Waking up at 4:30am to nurse and then sleeping until about 6:30ish. However, last night you didn't wake up and slept through until 6am!

Shoe Happy

Anna Ruth loves shoes. As soon as she spots a shoe on the floor she will make a mad dash to it. So, it should have been no surprise to me when I went into our bedroom to put up the laundry that this is where she would end up!

Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On

Well, "blue jean" diapers that is. Who says diapers can't be fun? Clint saw these when I was pregnant and commented on how cute they were. They ended up going on clearance (maybe discontinuing?) and my dear friend Shauna found some in Annapolis and sent them to us.

Pool Time

We celebrated Father's Day with some fun in the sun. We have wonderful friends ( well, we can count them as family) who have graciously offered the us the use of their pool....what a treat! Anna Ruth enjoyed herself and I think Clint had a great time seeing how she reacted to a big pool (as opposed to our miniature blow up one). An added bonus was that Tim took some pictures of AR playing in the pool. It was so nice to have the moments captured but not worry about taking the pictures yourself. Thanks Tim & Vicky!

Gatlinburg Getaway

This past weekend we introduced Anna Ruth to Gatlinburg. We met up with out friends Joey, Amanda and their daughter Reagan. Our cabin was heaven! The owner described it as "old Gatlinburg." It was tucked away from all the other cabins and had the most breathtaking view. We enjoyed grilling our suppers and watching our girls play together. A much needed getaway from reality for all of us!

Starting Off The Summer Right!

Do you remember when you were a kid and there was nothing better than the summer (besides Christmas)? Then, you grew up, got a job and summer time was still nice but it didn't feel the same. I mean, you had to go to work everyday and didn't get near as excited about swimming and the hot weather. I thought I would never get to experience that again.

But then, you have a child and suddenly that feeling returns as if it never left! You cannot wait to share all your favorite things with them and watch their reaction. It's better than experiencing it for yourself.

This weekend, we got an inflatable pool and let Anna Ruth splish and splash for the very first time. She loved it! I have a feeling this is going to be such a fun summer for the Davis family.
