No More Chemo for Lo!

Hat Couple

Last Tuesday was Lo’s last chemo treatment…hooray! I think I have made mention before that she has been an absolute trooper during this whole experience. I know it has been a hard time for her but you would never know it. She has been her same happy go-lucky self. It truly amazes me when I think about everything she has gone through and is still going through. I’m not so sure I could act in the same manner. I’m certain I would throw myself a pity party at least once a day, question “Why me” and mope around, but not Lo. She continues to give all the glory to God and credits her Faith in helping her get through. She is a true survivor in ever sense of the word!

I’ve always believed in the power of prayer, but especially now I believe even more. I continue to pray for Lo as she recovers but also that one day we will find a cure. I pray for a cure that will not just beat this cancer but will kick it in the butt!! And I have Faith that one day we will!

Future Homeowners??

Yes, you read right. If everything goes according to plan we might be moving again! Everyone knows how I despise moving! However, this time we would be moving into our very OWN home. I think that will make my attitude a little more pleasant on moving day. I know this is an everyday occurrence for most folks. But, for this Davis family it has been a huge decision. (And fretting from the girl with the tight pocketbook!) But, we had done our homework, spent hours researching and listening to our Dave Ramsey lesson again. So, we finally got serious about it.

Very early on in our relationship, looking at houses became one of our favorite pastimes. So once we moved to JC, we already knew what we were looking for we just had to find the right location. (And house of course!) For the past 4 months we have spent many a Sunday afternoons driving all over the Tri-Cities area looking at homes. A little over a month ago we took the next step and found a real estate agent. We wanted to be able to see inside these houses not just drive by.

Last weekend we meet our realtor again for another day of looking at homes. After looking at about 6 houses we had finally seen everything that was on the market that we were interested in. However, I wanted to see one last house that we had seen pictures of online. We weren’t completely sold on it because of the online pictures but decided “what the heck,” since it was in a good neighborhood. So glad we didn’t just go off of the pictures. To our surprise we ended up liking it, in fact, we really liked it. The more we made circles around the house looking at everything 3 times over, we agreed we almost Loved it. I refrained from immediately using the “L” word simply because of the “Harvest Gold” colored appliances in the kitchen. Of course that can be fixed no problem, so I would say we were on the verge of love. The price wasn’t too bad considering what else we had seen and the condition of the other homes in that price range. And it was under our budget which would leave some room for other things such as new appliances!

So after many prayers, sleeping on it and revisiting it again (Dave Ramsey advises to see the house more than once), we made an offer. And after a few counter-offers, the deal was struck. Now, we are just waiting on the home inspection. As long as that goes well, we will be headed towards the finish line, aka: Closing. We are very excited! I’ll keep you posted…

2nd Anniversary

It almost seems impossible that today is our 2nd wedding anniversary. However, in some ways it feels like we have already been married a lifetime. I can honestly say that I am the happiest now than I have ever been because I am married to the person who I was intented to be with. Clint makes me want to be a better person. It's no secret that I am the realist while he is Mr. Optimism. We balance each other out perfectly. Marriage is the hardest thing I have ever had to do because you have to work at it constantly. It makes me wonder how people who don't have God at the center of their marriage ever stay together (most don't) because we rely on Him daily. I am so blessed to have such a Godly husband who puts up with all my ever changing moods and attitudes!!!
Clint, I love you! And I will always say that I made the best decision ever on May 12,2007! I'm looking forward to the rest of our lives together.

Happy Mother's Day!

...or happy Momma's day as I would say. This girl is from the South and that's what I call mine. But whatever you call yours, I hope you told them how much you love them. Clint and I were fortunate enough to spend mother's day with both of our madres. After church, we met his family at the Chop House for a yummy Mother's Day lunch. We sure do love our Mommas!!
