The Day of Love

I know I’m a bit behind of writing about Valentine’s Day, but since it is one of my favorite holidays I feel I must give it some attention. Gasp! Did she say her favorite holiday? Yes, that’s right! I like it and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I even liked it when I wasn’t dating anyone and I spent Valentine’s night alone. Some of you would like to argue that it is a made up holiday by the greeting card companies. While I wouldn’t totally disagree, I would say though that maybe you aren’t giving V-Day a chance.
Hear me out. We would all agree that Valentine’s Day is about love…right? Okay, it doesn’t have to specifically be love for a significant other. Besides all the pink hearts and roses, and besides it being close to my birthday, I like Valentine’s Day because it is the only holiday that reminds you to tell the ones you love how much they mean to you. It doesn’t have to be mushy, just a simply card that says “I love you” or “You are special to me.” Usually after a tragedy we tend to hear people reminding us to tell the ones you love how important they are to you because you don’t know if it might be the last chance you get. So…if you aren’t typically the “lovey-dovey” type of person who constantly tells your family and friends how much you love them, well, you have Valentine’s Day to use as your excuse to do so!!
So, I hope that explains the reasoning behind one of my favorite holidays. Some of you will still think it is a silly Hallmark card buying, overpriced flower giving day. But at least you will know that I love you!

“All you need is Love!”
With my Valentine. Our annual V-day pose.
Beautiful flowers from Clint
Gorgeous flowers from Mom. I got 2 bouquets of flowers at work. Everyone was jealous!!
Waiting to go eat for Valentine's Day.
Clint: "Take the dang picture." Chloe: "Take me with you. I'm too cute to leave at home!"
